I appreciate Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s appeal to both India and Pakistan to make J&K a “bridge of friendship” between them and not let it become a battleground. It is a bitter reality that J&K has become a basis of a conflict between the two countries. It is the misfortune of both the countries that for the last few days, common people living along the border on both sides are witnessing firing in which many people have been killed. It is time the Prime Ministers of both the countries extend the hands of friendship to each other and bury this conflict forever.
