JAMMU, Mar 11: Atsushi Kaneko, Sr. Portfolio Management Specialist of Asian Development Bank along with Director, Tranche-III, J&K ERA Naresh Langeh conducted the site visit of proposed Chenab Water Supply Scheme which is to be taken up by J&K Economic Reconstruction Agency under the upcoming tranches of JKUSDIP (Jammu & Kashmir Urban Sector Development Investment Programme).
During the site visit Director Tranche, III, J&K ERA briefed Atsushi Kaneko about the salient features of the proposed project that aims to meet the futuristic demand for safe drinking water to the inhabitants of Jammu city.
The team visited site of River Intake works, 240 MLD Water Treatment Plant (WTP) at village Gurha Pattan, alignment of 20 Km long, 1600 mm dia clear water gravity main from WTP to Central Pumping Station (CPS) at Muthi and also the site of bridge proposed to be constructed in between the Barrage and the existing twin bridges over River Tawi for crossing of clear water rising main for Jammu East.
The visiting officer of ADB acknowledged the importance of the project for meeting future requirements of safe drinking water for the people of Jammu city.
