JAMMU, Aug 2: An accused escaped from the custody of Manwal Police, here today.
As per police sources, Mohammad Shafi, son of Ghulam Mohammad, a resident DH Pora Srinagar managed to escape from the make shift lock up of the Police Post Manwal.
He was arrested in a case registered under FIR Number 72/18 under NDPS Act at Jhajjar Kotli Police Station.
A fresh case under FIR Number 74/18 under Section 225 RPC has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli Police Station and hunt has been launched to nab the accused.
When contacted, SP Rural Dushyant Sharma told the Excelsior that SDPO Nagrota Yashbir Singh is conducting enquiry into the whole incident and will submit the report tomorrow, which will be forwarded to SSP Jammu.
“Whosoever will be found guilty will be taken to task”, he added.
