ACB produces charge sheets in 2 cases

SRINAGAR, Oct 12: In two separate cases, Anti Corruption Bureau today produced charge sheets against the Evacuee Property Officials in illegal appointments case and then Clerk in the office of SDM Uri.
Anti Corruption Bureau Srinagar presented Charge Sheet in case FIR number 22/2014 P/S ACB Srinagar U/S 5(1) (d), r/w 5(2) J&K PC Act, Svt 2006, section 120-B RPC, against accused Abdul Majid Wani, then Custodian, Evacuee Property, Kashmir, Azad Ahmad Lone, then Custodian General, J&K, Ghulam Mohi-du-din Kuchay, then Jr Engineer Ghulam Jeelani Rafiquee, then Rent Collector, Ab Rashid Wani, then Dy Custodian, Kashmir, Mohammad Salim Khan, then Dy Custodian Central J&K, Mohammad Yousuf Gilkar, then Custodian EP Kashmir and beneficiaries Khurshid Ahmad Khanday of Poshwan Tral and Javaid Ahmad Bhat of Hariparigam Tehsil Awantipora, for judicial determination.
It was established during the course of investigation that the accused public servants by abusing their official positions have initially engaged the accused beneficiaries on the consolidated basis in the Custodian Evacuee Property Department, and then after a brief period, adjusted/ promoted as orderly/ Jr Assistant in utter violation to the rules/ laws governing the process of appointments/ promotions.
In separate case, Anti-Corruption Bureau, North Kashmir today presented Charge Sheet before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Baramulla in case FIR 28/2015 u/s 5(1)(d), r/w 5(2) J&K PC. Act, Svt 2006 Section 4-A J&J PC (Amendment) Act 2014 against Ab Rashid Tantray the then clerk in the office of SDM Uri.
The case was registered in P/S VOK now (ACB) Baramulla on the basis of a written complaint, following which a verification was conducted into the allegations that the said public servant by abuse of his official position dishonestly received lakhs of rupees as bribe from the beneficiaries for processing their genuine compensation cases which have come under the Uri road widening project programme during the year 2007-08.
The investigation of the case was concluded as proved against the accused person and for launching prosecution, the chargesheet of the case was produced before the Court of Special Judge Anti-corruption, Baramulla Kashmir.
