JAMMU, Feb 6: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Central University of Jammu unit, submitted a memorandum to Prof Ritu Bakshi, the Dean of Student Welfare, seeking installation of sanitary vending machines in the girls’ washrooms across the campus and maintaining a hygienic environment campus-wide.
Unit President Prabhakar Bhardwaj said that the sanitary vending machines in girls’ washrooms are non-functional and urged for their immediate rectification. He also demanded the installation of sanitary vending machines across all girls’ washrooms campus-wide, emphasizing the necessity for accessible hygiene resources for female students.
Unit Secretary Shagun Sharma said that along with sanitary vending machines, sanitary napkin disposal machines should also be installed to properly dispose of used napkins and stressed the need for informative demonstrations to educate students on the functionality of these machines. She also emphasized the critical role of maintaining hygienic washrooms across the campus to ensure a healthy environment for all students.
In response to these demands, Dean Student Welfare assured the ABVP of prompt action and resolution of the issues as soon as possible.
