JAMMU, Sept 15: Extending its volunteer support to bring reforms in power sector of Jammu and Kashmir, senior state spokesperson of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Jagdeep Singh said that Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has failed the power sector of J&K which otherwise is having a very rich potential of power production.
Addressing a press conference in Jammu office of the Party, Jagdeep Singh said that J&K Government recently rolled out a new relief package for its domestic power consumers but this highly publicized package has nothing solid in it, as support has only been given for interest waiving and nothing has been done on ground for relief in power dues as was expected by people in J&K.
“Only AAP can bring reforms in power sector of J&K which is linked with everyone’s life and party has proven this in Punjab and Delhi where people are getting electricity in never expected supportive manner from Government and this policy has been implemented by the AAP Governments in such a manner that it has not impact the state exchequer but life of citizens is improved to a larger extent,” Singh said adding that AAP promised these in both Delhi and Punjab and came up on its promise.
Jagdeep said that J&K is a region with high power production potential but ill designed policies of J&K administration and callous approach of BJP Government has push power sector of the UT into a situation of uncertainty and unscheduled power curtailment, load shedding, poorly managed transmission lines and domestic transformers are pushing J&K into darkness despite having very high power production potential.
He said that AAP is ready to extend unconditional volunteer support to the J&K Government in bringing reforms in the power sector by sending a delegation of experienced officers of Delhi and Punjab to J&K for imparting expertise among local staffers to bring necessary improvement in the power sector.
