Woman among three held with heroin in Reasi, Udhampur

JAMMU, June 9: Police today claimed to have arrested three alleged drug peddlers, including a woman, in separate operations in Reasi and Udhampur districts and recovered over 19 grams of heroin from their possession.
In Reasi district, a woman identified as Kamlesh of Pouni was apprehended during naka checking at Masjid Chowk, Katra.
Police said she was intercepted while travelling in a Smart City Bus and, during a search conducted by lady police personnel, around 3.1 grams of heroin concealed in her hair was recovered.
Accordingly, a case under FIR number 180/2026 was registered against the accused at Police Station Katra under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act, they said.
Meanwhile, in Udhampur district, a team of Police Post Tikri intercepted a vehicle at Tikri Naka on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and recovered 16.01 grams of heroin from two occupants.
The accused were identified as Rohit Koul and Pankaj Sharma, both residents of Jagti Colony, Nagrota, Jammu.
The duo was arrested on the spot and the contraband was seized.
They were accordingly booked in case FIR number 139/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Rehambal.
