RAJOURI, May 23: With the successful initiation of Cochlear Implant Surgery by the Department of ENT & HNS, Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri has achieved another milestone in the field of advanced healthcare.
In this regard, a CME-cum-workshop was organized and inaugurated by Dr. A.S Bhatia in the presence of Dr. Harleen Kour, Dr. Padam Singh Jamwal, Dr. Vijay Gupta, Dr. Vidushi Badial and Dr. Shamim Ahmed.
Under the leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) A.S Bhatia, GMC Rajouri has become the first peripheral GMC in Jammu Division to provide this highly specialised hearing restoration surgery bringing new hope to children and families suffering from profound hearing loss across Pir Panjal region.
The surgery was successfully performed by the dedicated ENT team under the leadership of HOD ENT Prof. (Dr.) Vidushi Badial, in collaboration with the DIEC team, Anaesthesia team headed by Dr. Suhail Bandey and the Operation Theatre team led by Sahil Sharma.
The procedure was conducted under the guidance of renowned cochlear implant surgeon, Dr. Rajiv Kapila from Deep Hospital, Ludhiana, along with HOD ASCOMS, Dr. Padam Singh Jamwal.
