SRINAGAR, May 23: Srinagar Police attached multiple immovable properties worth nearly Rs 5 crore belonging to persons involved in drug trafficking cases across Srinagar and adjoining districts as part of the ongoing “Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan”.
The properties were attached under various provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act after completion of legal formalities and in the presence of magistrates, revenue officials and local witnesses.
In one of the actions, officials said police attached a single-storey and a double-storey house – belonging to Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Ahmad Sheikh, and Aneek Ahmad Sheikh, son of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, both residents of Larbal Beerwah in Budgam district.
The duo is involved in FIR No. 37/2024 registered under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Saddar Srinagar, officials said.
In another action, officials said police attached a double-storeyed residential house belonging to Suhaib Farooq Khan, son of Farooq Ahmad Khan, a resident of Mini Colony Chanapora, who is involved in FIR No. 15/2023 under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Chanapora.
Police also attached a three-storeyed residential house with attic belonging to Mohsin Ibrahim Naqash, son of Mohammad Ibrahim Naqash, a resident of Jawahar Nagar Srinagar, in connection with FIR No. 42/2026 under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Saddar Srinagar.
In a separate operation, police attached a three-storeyed residential house belonging to Farhan Manzoor Pandit, son of Manzoor Pandit, a resident of Kursoo Rajbagh, involved in FIR No. 18/2026 under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Rajbagh, officials said.
Officials further said Police Station Karan Nagar attached a double-storeyed residential house belonging to Fayaz Ahmad Rather, son of Farooq Ahmad Rather, a resident of Patoo Mohalla Ajas in Bandipora district.
He is involved in FIR No. 01/2025 under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act and Section 111 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), officials said.
In another action, police attached a double-storeyed residential house situated at Bakshiabad Bemina belonging to Abid Hassan Dar, son of Ghulam Hassan Dar.
Dar is involved in FIR No. 18/2022 of Police Station Batamaloo under Sections 8/21, 29 and 27-A of the NDPS Act along with Sections 468, 471 and 473 of the IPC.
Police in Handwara attached a residential property worth around Rs 15 lakh belonging to a drug trafficker as part of the ongoing “Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan”, officials said.
The attached property belongs to Bilal Ahmad Khatana, son of Ghulam Mohi-U-Din Khatana, a resident of Ucher Magam Handwara.
They added that the accused is involved in multiple cases registered under the NDPS Act.
