Rajouri, May 23: A young girl died and a couple along with their one-year old daughter among four persons were injured in a head-on collision between a heavy dumper and Honda City car in Chingus area of Rajouri.
According to reports, collision between the dumper bearing registration number JK02 BL- 7105 and Honda City car, bearing registration number JK12C- 5800 was severe, resulting in extensive damage to the car, in which the victims were travelling.
On receiving information, local residents and police personnel immediately rushed to the spot and launched rescue efforts. The injured were rushed to GMC Hospital Rajouri where one of them, succumbed to her injuries. The deceased was identified as Shabnum (15), daughter of Farheen Khan, resident of Bathindi, Jammu.
The other injured, undergoing treatment at GMC Rajouri, have been identified as Yasir Malik (40), son of Ghulam Din Malik, resident of Doda, his wife Asma Malik (35), their one -year old daughter Amira Malik and Abida Parveen (24), daughter of Mohd Shafi, resident of Banihal.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation is underway.
