JAMMU, May 23: Delhi Public School Jammu under the guidance of Dr Ritu Singh, Pro-Vice Chairperson and Founder of DPS Jammu, Nagbani and Katra, hosted the grand inaugural ceremony of the three-day Zonal residential training programme in Mathematics under the aegis of the Delhi Public School Society-HRDC.
The event was graced by chief guest Ansuya Jamwal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu and guest of honour Prof. (Dr) Sartaj Ul Hasan, Dean Academics, Department of Mathematics, IIT Jammu. Other dignitaries included Sandhya Awasthi, Executive Director, DPSS-HRDC; Kiran Seth, Joint Director and Lead Resource Person and Renu Kaushik from DPS Rohini as Resource Person.
The programme held at Hari Niwas Palace, Jammu, witnessed participation of 30 educators from DPS schools. Participants included Mudasir Ahmad Tantry, Amjid Rashid Bhat, Syed Shouib Mohd Razvi, Mir Aqib Bashir, Goutam Verma, Divya Manhas, Asif Mustafa, Sakeena Zahoor, Ashish Sharma, Akshi Mahajan, Ashwani Bakshi, Rakesh Gupta, Ashok Kumar, Dr. Paramjeet Singh, Ajay Kumar Kohli, Vijayender Gupta, Kumari Ranjana, Randhir Sharma and Shivani Bakshi.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Ritu Singh emphasized innovation in Mathematics education, aligning with NEP 2020. Chief guest Ansuya Jamwal highlighted Mathematics as a life skill, while Dr Sartaj Ul Hasan stressed conceptual learning and AI’s supporting but non-replacing role of teachers. Sandhya Awasthi and Ruchi Chabra also underlined teacher empowerment and pedagogical transformation.
