Samba police solves Bari Brahmana blind murder case within 48 hours

SAMBA, May 23: Samba police has solved a blind murder case of a woman in the Bari Brahmana area within 48 hours by arresting the accused and recovering the weapon of offence from him.

Police said on May 18 Police Station (PS), Bari Brahmana received reliable information regarding the murder of a lady namely Anuradha, wife of Ajay Kumar of Ward Number 07, Channi Kartholi, tehsil Bari Brahmana, whose dead body was found lying inside her residence.
Acting promptly, FIR No. 128/2026 U/S 103 BNS was registered at Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana and investigation was immediately set into motion.
Police said during investigation, extensive enquiry, technical analysis, collection of evidence, witness examination and verification of multiple leads were carried out. Based on generated information and technical evidence, a police team conducted a raid at Village Bhagwan Chak, Tehsil Khour, district Jammu and rounded up one suspect namely Chhail Singh, son of Gian Singh of village Bhagwan Chak, tehsil Khour, district Jammu for sustained questioning.
During interrogation and investigation, the involvement of the accused was found. Technical evidence established that the accused was in constant contact with the deceased through phone calls.
Police said investigation further revealed that the deceased was related to the accused and both were allegedly involved in an illicit relationship, which had led to disputes between them over the past several days. It surfaced during investigation that on the day of the incident, the accused visited the residence of the deceased and, during an altercation, intentionally committed murder upon her.
Accordingly, the accused Chhail Singh was arrested on May 20 under relevant provisions of law. Investigation further revealed that he is a retired Army personnel presently employed with Reliance Security Services, Mumbai, police said.
During investigation, the weapon of offence used in the commission of crime was also recovered.
The murder case was solved within 48 hours by a team of PS Bari Brahmana headed by SHO Bari Brahmana under the supervision of SDPO, Bari Brahmana and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, police said.
