Itanagar/ Jammu, Sept 6: Pramod Jain, former senior IAS Officer of Jammu and Kashmir cadre has been appointed as Chairman of the Arunanchal Pradesh Administrative Reforms Commission (ARC).

A son of the soil, he has earlier held several important positions in J&K as well as at the Centre. Post-retirement, he worked also as Chairman of the J&K Water Resources Regulatory Authority. Till recently, he was Chairman of the high-powered New Districts Committee for Ladakh UT, and advised the Ladakh Administration regarding operationalisation of five new Districts namely, Sham, Nubra, Zanskar, Changthang and Drass.
This report is under active examination in the Ministry of Home Affairs in New Delhi.
Known for bold decision-making and a pro-people approach, Jain is also a poet, writer and broadcaster. He also lectures frequently on public administration and leadership.
Jain will have one-year tenure as the Chairman, but it can be extended.
