JAMMU/SRINAGAR/LEH, Feb 17: Eighty four persons today tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir while 56 recovered from the virus. After Kathua and Ramban, Reasi district today also became Corona-free.
Eleven positive cases were reported in the Jammu region, all in Jammu district. Nine other districts didn’t report any COVID positive cases today.
As all six COVID positive persons today recovered from the virus in Reasi, the district now has zero active case. Kathua and Ramban districts were already free from the virus unless new cases are reported.
A total of 22 persons today recovered from the virus including six each in Reasi and Poonch and five each in Jammu and Udhampur.
Jammu region now has 51791 Coronavirus cases. Among them, 154 are active positives while 50912 have recovered from the virus and there have been 725 casualties in the region.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 73 fresh cases of COVID-19.
Those who tested positive include 42 from Srinagar, 2 Baramulla, 9 Budgam, 6 Pulwama, 1 Kupwara, 9 Anantnag, 1 Bandipora and 3 from Shopian.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 73,756 including 72,027 recoveries and 1,226 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 657 including 503 from Kashmir division.
With 56 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 122,939, which is 97.92 percent of the total cases.
Meanwhile, the UT of Ladakh today reported three new positive cases, all in Leh district.
Ladakh now has 48 active positive cases.
