RAJOURI, Apr 10: Shakeel Beig, DIG Jammu and General Secretary of the Police Public Cricket Premier League (PPCPL) informed that the selection trials of the players from Rajouri, Sunderbani, Surankote and Poonch were conducted today at Rajouri, under the supervision of former Ranji Trophy players and senior Police Officers, wherein 8 players were selected for the auction.
The objective of conducting trials at different places is to involve the unnoticed talent of the far-flung areas and provide them a mega platform to show their talent. The selected players from the trials will be placed for auction and they will be included in the participating teams of the PPCPL.
The selected players included Imran Faizali (Surankote), Mohd Arif (Poonch), Israr Charak (Poonch), Nawaz Rather (Poonch), Nadeem Ahmad (Rajouri), Bubishan Sharma (Poonch) and Gurvinder Singh (Poonch).
The Selection Committee included Rajesh Gill, Shashi Paul, Ankush Gupta and Vinod.
Meanwhile, the organizing secretary of the League informed that the trials at Kathua Cricket Stadium for cricketers from Kathua, Samba and adjoining areas will be held tomorrow from 9 am to 1 pm.
The selection Committee includes Surinder Singh Bagal, Vivek Sharma, Rakesh Koul, Dheeraj Gupta and Inspector, Soma Ram.
The trials for Jammu cricketers will also be held tomorrow at MA Stadium from 12 noon to 4.30 pm.
The Selection Committee includes RK Bhat, Shahid Parvez, Ashwani Gupta, Rajesh Dhar and Rajesh Gill.
