JAMMU, Oct 11: Domana police arrested eight persons with stake money and playing cards from Muthi area.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Domana Police Station conducted raid near Muthi and apprehended eight gamblers along with Rs 34,000 stake money and playing card. A total amount of Rs 1,25,000 was also seized from their possession.
The arrested persons have been identified as Latif Ahmed, son of Nazir Ahmed of Janipur, Anil Arora, son of Ved Parkash of Lower Roop Nagar, Deepak, son of Som Nath Bhat of Upper Muthi, Naresh Kumar, son of Lal Singh of Hajipura Gandhi Nagar, Mohammad Saleem, son of Mohammad Basharat of Janipur, Rakesh Sahni, son of Joginder Sahni of Peer Mitha, Rohit Raina, son of Bhopinder Raina of Bantalab and Dheeraj Kumar, son of Suresh Chander of Trikuta Nagar.
All the gamblers have been booked under Section 13 Gambling Act by Domana Police.
Police team led by SHO Domana Inspector RS Rana made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Domana Verinder Singh and SP Rural Shivdeep Singh Jamwal.
