JAMMU, May 23: Parade Sports Association, in collaboration with Laxmi Cricket Club and with support from the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association, will organize the 7th Summer Cricket Camp for boys and girls aged between 12 and 16 years at Parade Ground, Jammu, from June 7.
According to a handout issued, the three-week camp aims to groom and polish budding cricketers of Jammu under the supervision of senior Ranji Trophy players and experienced coaches. Vijay Sabarwal, President of Parade Sports Association, and Dr Anil Kumar Mahajan, General Secretary of Laxmi Cricket Club, will oversee the camp activities.
Harsh Nayyar has been named Chief Organizer, while Rohit Bhat, Randhir Singh Jamwal and Vikram Dogra will serve as coaches. Former J&K Ranji captain Sanjay Sharma will guide participants with his expertise. Senior cricketers Kapil Dev Mahajan, Pawan Gupta and Rajesh Jolly will serve as organizing secretaries. Vikram Singh Bhadwal and Devender Sharma will serve as organisers of this camp.
Besides cricket coaching, players will receive training in fielding, batting, bowling and wicketkeeping techniques. Yoga, meditation, fitness sessions, medical check-ups and physiotherapy guidance will also be part of the camp. Only 60 players will be registered on a first come, first served basis. Registration will remain open till June 5.
