345 fresh COVID cases, tally 23927

Srinagar, Aug 7: Kashmir today reported seven deaths of COVID-19 positive cases taking the J&K death toll to 454 while 345 fresh positive cases were reported from Valley taking the J&K tally to 23927.
Seven people including a CRPF man died in Kashmir due to COVID. They include a 60-year-old woman from Sopore Baramulla, a 55-year-old man from Chersoo Awantipora, a 65-year-old woman from Sarnal Anantnag, a 32-year-old man from Hawal Srinagar, a 46-year-old man from Kokernag Anantnag, a 60-year-old man from HMT Srinagar, a 65-year-old woman from Dalgate Srinagar and a 65-year-old man from Hawal Srinagar.
An official from SKIMS said that a 60-year-old woman from Sopore who was admitted on 31st July with hypertension, diabetes, septic shock and bilateral pneumonia died last evening.
He said that a 55-year-old man from Chersoo area of Awantipora who was admitted on July 31 died today.
A 65-year-old woman from Sarnal Anantnag who was admitted on 6th August also died today.
A 32-year-old CRPF man of 179 Battalion posted in Sopore died at SKIMS today. He had tested positive for Covid-19 today only.
A 46-year-old man from Kokernag Anantnag who was admitted on August 2nd to the SKIMS Soura died today.
An official from GMC Srinagar said that a 60-year-old man from HMT Srinagar who was admitted on 3rd August died today.
A 65-year-old woman from Dalgate Srinagar who was admitted on August 5 with bilateral pneumonia, diabetes and other ailments also died today.
An official from CD hospital said that a 65-year-old man from Hawal Srinagar who was admitted at CD hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 died today. He added that his 2nd report came negative. However, report of his third sample is awaited.
With seven more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached 454 including 420 from Kashmir division and 34 from Jammu province.
An official said that 1081 samples taken at Srinagar Airport were processed at SKIMS Soura Virology lab and 13 tested positive.
He said that 1396 more samples were processed at the SKIMS Soura Virology lab and 128 tested positive. They include 47 from Budgam, 23 from Srinagar and around 50 security men including 38 from CPRF.
An official at GMC Srinagar said that 1170 samples were processed at GMC laboratory and 160 tested positive. He added that they include six from security forces.
Officials said that 368 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, of Kashmir.
Officials said that in Kashmir out of 23927 positive cases, 7260 are active, 16218 have recovered and 454 have died; 34 in Jammu division and 420 in Kashmir province.
Srinagar has 5822 positive cases with 2353 active, 3322 recovered and 147 deaths; Baramulla has 2073 positive cases with 382 active, 1614 recovered , 77 deaths; Pulwama reported 1769 positive cases with 718 active cases, 1024 recovered and 27 deaths; Kulgam has 1593 positive cases with 154 active, 1410 recoveries and 29 deaths; Shopian has 1508 positive cases with 198 active, 1286 recovered and 24 deaths; Anantnag district has 1498 positive cases with 315 active Positive, 1153 recovered, 30 deaths; Budgam has 1462 positive cases with 428 active, 1000 recovered cases and 34 deaths; Kupwara has 1209 positive cases with 223 active, 963 recovered, 23 deaths; Bandipora has 962 positive cases with 344 active, 601 recovered and 17 deaths and Ganderbal has 630 positive cases with 289 active cases, 334 recoveries and 7 deaths.
