RAJOURI, Aug 2: At least seven persons were injured when a Tavera vehicle collided with a JCB at Siot Morh near Sunderbani on Jammu-Rajouri highway this evening.
Official sources said that the mishap took place at around 7.45 pm when the Tavera vehicle No. JK02BD/ 9174, carrying six passengers and driver was on way to Jammu from Poonch. At Siot Morh, a JCB suddenly entered the main road. The vehicle was in speed. Tavera driver Daljeet Singh applied brakes but he could not control and it collided with the JCB.
A large number of people of Siot market gathered on the spot. The police party also arrived and they shifted the injured passengers to Sub District Hospital, Sunderbani. The injured were identified as- Mohd Farooq and Rakesh Kumar from Dalhousie (HP), Mohd Rashid, Akhtar Ahmed, Mumtaz Ahmed and Tanveer Hussain from Poonch and driver Daljeet Singh from Simbal Camp, Jammu. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
