SRINAGAR, May 13:  A total of 66000 youths across Jammu and Kashmir have applied for 700 vacant posts of Sub Inspectors (SIs) in J&K Police for which recruitment began from Srinagar today.
IGP Headquarters, PHQ, AK Choudhary told reporters at Bakshi Stadium today that approximately 66000 candidates have applied for the posts of Sub Inspectors (SIs) from whole of Jammu and Kashmir. “We have started from Kashmir Zone. Today and tomorrow the recruitment will be held for Srinagar district and roughly 2000 candidates turn up each day and first we will complete Kashmir province including Ladakh and then Jammu,” he said.
In reply to a question whether the recruitment will tackle stone-pelting in Kashmir, the IGP said they hope it would prove successful. “You have seen how good has been the response. We hope it be very much successful,” he said.
Asked about the delay in results, he said the candidates are right now running and they come to know about results simultaneously. “Those who have qualified and have time, they will come to know and we are telling them about their status. They don’t wait, they get the results right now,” the top cop said.
