6 POK guests arrive, four Kashmiri cross to other side of LoC

SRINAGAR: Six new guests from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here while four Kashmiris crossed to the other side of Line of Control (LoC) today.

Five returnees also crossed sides at the Kaman Post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC in Uri sector, official sources said.

They said six PoK guests, including two women, arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge on foot today. A Kashmiri who had gone to PoK also returned here.

Four Kashmiris including  two women, travelled to the PoK in the Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabd, capital of the PoK. Four PoK residents, including two women and a child, who had arrived here by previous buses returned to their homes.

The cross LoC bus service has helped thousands of families, divided in partition in 1947. It was started on April 7,2005 despite opposition by the militant organizations. (UNI)
