JAMMU, Oct 29: 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu M A Chowdhary today awarded five years imprisonment to Amarjeet Singh, son of Prem Singh of Camp Gole Gujral in a murderous attack case.
After hearing APP Ajay Singh Manhas appearing for the State, court awarded five years imprisonment for the commission of offence under Section 326 RPC.
The convict was further sentenced to undergo an imprisonment for a period of three years for the commission of offence under Section 4/25 Arms Act. “All the substantive sentences of the imprisonment shall run concurrently”, the court said, adding “the period of detention if any undergone by the convict during investigation or as undertrial shall be set off under rules”.
“In default of payment of fine, the convict shall undergo simple imprisonment for a period of one year. An amount of Rs 60,000 out of the time if realized shall be paid as compensation to the victim Suram Singh in terms of section 545 CrPC”, the court said.
