431 test +ve, J&K tally 25931

SRINAGAR, Aug 11 : Five people today died of COVID-19 in Kashmir taking the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir to 492 while 431 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the Valley taking the overall tally to 25931.
Among the deaths, two each were reported from Baramulla and Anantnag districts besides one each from Kupwara, Srinagar and Ganderbal.
A 65-year-old woman from Mirgund Pattan area of Baramulla died at SMHS hospital today. She was admitted on August 5 and was suffering from T2DM and bilateral pneumonia.
The other death from Baramulla includes that of a 25-year-old man who died at SKIMS Soura today.
A 60-year-old man from Alistag Srinagar died at SMHS hospital today. He was admitted with pneumonia and had tested positive for COVID-19 subsequently.
A 46-year-old man from  Kral Gund Kupwara who was suffering from diabetes, community acquired pneumonia was admitted to hospital today and died later.
With these deaths, 492 people have died due to COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir so far including 455 from the Valley and 37 from Jammu division.
Srinagar district with 157 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 84, Budgam 36, Anantnag 35, Kulgam 32, Pulwama 32, Kupwara 28,  Shopian 24, Bandipora 18 and Ganderbal 8.
Kashmir reported 431 cases of Coronavirus today taking the J&K tally to 25931.
Srinagar reported 90 cases, Baramulla 53, Pulwama 37, Kulgam 23, Shopian 2, Anantnag 42, Budgam 39, Kupwara 33, Bandipora 67 and Ganderbal 45.
An official said that 368 samples were processed at SKIMS Medical College Hospital Srinagar and 53 tested positive.
He added that 889 samples were processed at the Chest Diseases hospital lab in Srinagar and 120 tested positive.
In Kashmir, Srinagar topped the list with 6350 cases followed by Baramulla with 2231, Pulwama 1897, Kulgam 1642, Budgam 1609, Shopian 1536, Anantnag 1612, Kupwara 1306, Bandipora 1168 and Ganderbal 734.
According to the bulletin, of the total 25931 positive cases in J&K, 5135 have been reported as travelers while 20796 as others.
Meanwhile, 455 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals of Kashmir.
