5 arrested with stolen items worth lakhs

JAMMU, Feb 11: Police today arrested five thieves and recovered large quantity of stolen items worth lakhs from their possession including gold items, cash and vehicles.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Atul Goel during a press conference told that police arrested five thieves and recovered large quantity of stolen items worth lakhs from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Keher Singh alias Sonu, son of Jinda Singh of Digiana, Himashu, son of Sunil Verma and Ranjeet Singh, son of Balbir Singh, both residents of New Plot, Hitler, son of Chote Lal and Azad, son of Seven Mattoo, resident of Bihar, at present Trikuta Nagar, SSP added.
He stated that all the accused were involved in various theft cases registered with Gandhi Nagar police station, Gangyal police station and Bahu Fort police station.
Police recovered 320 grams of gold, 263 grams of silver, 5 scooters bearing registration number JKO2AA-1168, JKO2U-4318, JKO2P-7030, JKO2H-0198), 2 cars and Rs 1,23,000 cash on their disclosure, SSP added.
All the accused are in police custody and further investigation is going on.
Police teams headed by SHO Rajinder Sharma, SHO Chanchal Singh and SHO Jasbir Singh made the arrest.
