JAMMU, July 22: Kanachack and Bakshi Nagar Police arrested four thieves and recovered stolen items from their possession.
As per police sources, on July 20 this year, a complaint was lodged by Ashwani Kumar, son of Mela Ram of Kalah Khour with Police Station Kanachack stating that on July 19 some unknown persons had stolen his Mahindra load carrier bearing registration number JK02U-7749, which he had parked along road side at Deharan.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 116/2020 under section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Kanachack and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Kanachack Police Station laid naka at Mishriwala, intercepted the stolen vehicle and arrested the accused identified as Raj Kumar, son of Shankar Dass of Jib Thathi.
During questioning, the accused disclosed the names of his two associates identified as Ravi Kumar, son of Shiv Ram of Jib Thathi Udhampur and Roahan Lal, son of Ram Saran of Makhyala Tehsil Marh District Jammu. Both were arrested also.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Kanachack Inspector Ravi Parihar and assisted by HC Kiran Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Kosheen Koul, SP Rural Suram Singh and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
Meanwhile, Bakshi Nagar Police arrested a thief and recovered stolen gold ornaments worth Rs 1 lakh from his possession.
On July 18 this year, a complaint was lodged by Anil Sharma, son of Badhri Nath of Shakti Nagar with Police Station Bakshi Nagar stating that some unknown burglars trespassed into his house and decamped with some cash and gold ornaments.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 103/2020 under section 454 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started.
During investigation, police rounded up several suspects and finally arrested the thief, who was identified as Sahil Dogra, son of Gharu Ram of Roulki, Bakshi Nagar, District Jammu.
On his disclosure stolen gold ornaments worth Rs 1 lakh was also recovered.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
