UDHAMPUR, July 7: Udhampur Police has worked a recent theft case at Shakti Nagar and arrested all the burglars besides recovering the stolen items from their possession.
The arrested thieves include four juvenile, who burgled the house of Dev Raj, son of Shankar Dass of Shukhi Karlai, Shakti Nagar, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur on July 5. The accused were caught on CCTV camera.
The theft case was worked out by a special team of PS Udhampur, led by SHO Vijay Singh Choudhary, which conducted a series of raids in different suspected locations. During raids, some suspects were zeroed in by police and during the sustained interrogation of these suspects, one of them confessed the commissioning of the offence.
On his disclosure, four other associates involved in the case were also arrested by the police. The identity of the accused persons was established as Ajay Singh, son of Balbir Singh of Shiv Nagar and four juveniles.
On the disclosure of the accused, stolen property, including gold ornaments of approximate worth of Rs 50000 of the complainant were recovered.
