KATHUA, May 2: In a bizzare incident of broad day light robbery, four masked men who were believed to be Punjab gangsters looted the gold and other ornaments from a shop of a Goldsmith on the gun point and sharp edged weapon at village Gurha Mundian in Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district today.

The incident has created a panic among the local people in the area as well as members of the business community.
They (gangsters) decamped with Gold and silver ornaments and fled away on two motorcycles on Jammu- Pathankot National Highway.
However, with the timely action of Hiranagar Police led by DySP, Border Pankaj Sudan and SHOHiranagar Sumit Kumar, two robbers were arrested who were moving towards Punjab on bike. The police also seized the Dessi Katta and a sharp edged weapon from their possession. In their preliminary investigation, the robbers disclosed that they were on way to Amritsar after committing robbery.
As per reports, four unknown masked men on two motorcycles reached at the Vishawkarma Goldsmith’s shop at Gurha Mundian belonging to Nirdosh Abrol, son of Lal Man of Gurha Mundian in Hiranagar tehsil at about 4-30 pm. They showed the revolver and sharp edged weapon to goldsmith and threatened the owner to handover the gold and silver ornaments to them. They looted the gold and silver ornaments on the point of Toka and Katta and fled away from the spot towards the National Highway on two bikes. The Goldsmith immediately raised an alarm, informed the police and local people. The Hiranagar police rushed to the spot and in its quick action it alerted all other nakka points in Kathua and Samba districts. With timely action of the police two gangsters fell into its net and they were arrested at Dayalachack on a Nakka point by Hiranagar police. The police is investigating the case and has moved its teams in different directions to nab the remaining two members of the robbers gang.
The incident created panic among the local people as well as members of the business community in the area. This was a unique incident of robbery by the gang of robbers who are believed to be from neighbouring Punjab State. They committed the act in a Bollywood movie style. The more details are awaited as police did not disclose the identity of two arrested robbers so far. However, police is on the job to nab the other two members of the gang.
The police is also examining the CCTV footage of the robbers to nab the other two robbers.
The arrested gangsters have been also put to sustained interrogation and on the basis of leads given by them police may succeed in busting the entire gang.
