UDHAMPUR, Mar 7: Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued four animals even as the accused smugger managed to escape.
Reports said that acting on reliable information, a Police Party of Police Station Udhampur, laid a surprise naka near Jakhani and intercepted a Tata Mobile, bearing registration number JK14B-5821, which was on way towards Kashmir.
The vehicle was found loaded with four bovine animals, which were rescued even as the driver managed to escape.
Police seized the vehicle and registered a case under Section 188/RPC 3 PCA Act at PS Udhampur.
