Srinagar, Sept 14: The third edition of the exclusive kids sporting event, Highland Kids Sports Meet started at Presentation Convent School Rajbagh, here today.
The three day event which has become popular among the institutes of the Srinagar for its exclusiveness of being only kind of event meant for kids below nine years old saw around 350 kids (boys only) participating the inaugural day.
The event was inaugurated by Principal Presentation Convent School, Sr. Phyllis in presence of sr. vice President, J&K Sport’s Development Association (JKSDA) Rauf Ahmad Tramboo, President Srinagar unit JKSDA, Tariq Rashid Ghani.
In the event competition of 50-metre sprint, sack race, one leg race, spoon race and tug of war are being held. The event is being organized by JKSDA in collaboration with Presentation Convent School and is being sponsored by Highland Journeys, Tours and Treks.
Hailing event for its uniqueness, Sr. Phyllis, said, “I am happy to see such kind of event being held exclusively for kids. It will infuse among them sports spirit from early age. Kids love this and that can be seen on their faces. I hope this event will continue in future as well”.
Giving details, Rauf Ahmad Tramboo said that, JKSDA came up with the idea of the event three years back and since then it has been regular feature.
