JAMMU, Aug 31: The 37th two-day Youth Parliament competition was inaugurated at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1, Jammu, under the aegis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Regional Office, Jammu. Eight teams from various Kendriya Vidyalayas of Jammu Division participated with enthusiasm.
MLA, Bahu Constituency, Vikram Randhawa graced the occasion as the chief guest. Islam Khan, Assistant Commissioner, KVS, RO Jammu, along with Principals Amit Walter and Bhushan Kumar, attended the programme.
The event commenced with ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by a melodious welcome song by students. Dignitaries were accorded a green welcome with saplings. Akash Gupta, Principal, PM SHRI KV No 1 Jammu, delivered the welcome address.
Islam Khan briefed participants about the competition rules and encouraged greater involvement in co-curricular activities. The distinguished jury assessed the performances, as young parliamentarians showcased confidence, discipline and democratic spirit.
