357 cases settled in Lok Adalats

JAMMU, Feb 25: Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Principal District and Sessions Judge) Jammu Vinod Chatterji Koul today chaired a Lok Adalat held at District Court Complex Janipur.
During the Lok Adalat, six benches were constituted for settlement of cases of different nature. Bench number 1 which comprised of VC Koul, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Jammu, Nighat Sultana, Additional District Judge, Bank Cases, Jammu, and Haq Nawaz Zargar 3rd Additional District and Sessions Judge, TADA/POTA dealt with Bank Cases, Civil Cases and Criminal Revision.
Bench number 2 comprising Mohan Lal Manhas, Special Judge, Anti Corruption, CBI Cases Jammu and Jatinder Singh Jamwal, Presiding Officer, MACT Jammu, dealt with MACT cases. Bench number 3 comprising Ashwani Kumar Sharma Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu and Pawan Sharma Sub Judge, Jammu and Arti Devi Munsiff, JMIC Jammu dealt with cases under section 138 NI Act and Petty Offences, Criminal Compoundable and Petty Criminal offences.
Bench number 4 comprising SS Bali, Sub Judge, Special Mobile Magistrate, 13 Finance, Jammu, and Manjeet Rai Special Mobile Magistrate, P&T Jammu dealt with Electricity, Water and Passenger Tax Cases and Civil Cases of all nature, while bench number 5 comprising Naushad Ahmed Khan, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Jammu and Dinesh Gupta, Special Mobile Magistrate, Traffic Jammu dealt with Traffic Cases. Bench number 6 comprising Manoj Parihar, Special Municipal Magistrate, Jammu, Slahuddin Ahmed, Additional Mobile Magistrate, Jammu and Wangial Tsering, Forest Magistrate, Jammu dealt with Municipal and Petty compoundable offences. A total of 341 cases were taken up, of which, 320 cases were disposed off and Rs 1878415 was realized as compound fee. Meanwhile, a special Lok Adalat was held at District Court Complex Samba under the chairmanship of MK Sharma, Chairman, DLSA, Principal District and Sessions Judge Samba. First bench was constituted for taking up MACT and Bank cases, which was headed by MK Sharma, Principal, District and Sessions Judge Jammu and assisted by SK Khanmotra, Advocate.
The second bench was headed by Ajay Gupta, Sub Judge/CJM Samba and assisted by Kamiya Singh Andotra, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Samba, while the third bench was constituted of Swati Gupta, Secretary, DLSA Samba and Shabnam Sheikh, Munsiff Samba.
A total of 39 cases were taken up, out of which 37 cases were disposed off amicably and an amount of Rs 6896848 was settled.
