JAMMU, Sept 18: Mountaineering Association of J&K has selected 33 climbers including 14 girls for participation in the 20th North Zone Sport Climbing Championship scheduled to be organized at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT, Kanpur) from September 25 to September 28, 2014.
The team led by Anil Kumar will participate in all categories of senior, junior and sub junior boys and girls. The State team has been sponsored by J&K State Sports Council.
The teams: Sub junior girls: Shivani Charak of Shining Star Academy, Muthi, Jammu; Nitya Sharma of Shangrilla Public School, Sarwal, Jammu; Palak Bhagat and Tanisha Rajput of Amba Kids Home, Panthal, Reasi; Asma Gul of Kargil, presently at Sprawling Buds School, Chinore, Jammu and Madhu Thakur of National Academy High School, Udhampur.
Sub junior boys : Mrityunjay Sharma of Shangrilla Public School, Sarwal, Jammu; Ajay Deep Singh and Arun Deep Singh of Shining Star Academy, Muthi, Jammu; Vansh Gupta of St Xavier Convent Sr Secondary School, Barnai, Jammu; Sanyam Bhatt, Mandeep Singh and Vikrant Singh (all from Sprawling Buds School, Chinore, Jammu); Arush Singh of National Academy High School, Udhampur and Uzail Afzal Dar of Anantnag.
Girls: Shilpa Charak of Shining Star Academy, Muthi Jammu; Muskan Abrol of Government Hr Secondary School, Mubarak Mandi, Jammu; Bindi Sharma of Govt Hr Secondary School, Udhampur; Vanshika Gomdyan and Avantika, both from National Academy High School, Udhampur.
Boys : Aman Dogra and Hardev Singh, both from Shining Star Academy, Muthi, Jammu; Ashish Thakur of Basohli, District Kathua; Abhishek Thakur of SP Smart School, Kachi Chawni, Jammu; Yasser Hamid of Amba Kids Home, Panthal, District Reasi and Nadeem Tariq of Anantnag.
Women: Pallavi Sharma and Sakshi Magotra, both from Govt Hr Secondary School, Muthi, Jammu and Ambreen Fatima of Kargil, presently at Government Hr Secondary School, Mubarak Mandi, Jammu.
Men: Anil Kumar of ITI, R.S Pura, Shashi Kant of Oriental Academy, Afghan Street, Jammu and Aman Arora of Naveen Shiksha Kender, Nagbani, Jammu.
The team will leave for Kanpur on September 23, 2014.
