3 bovine smugglers with fake permission nabbed

AKHNOOR, Oct 1: The police today arrested three alleged bovine smugglers carrying four bovine animals in a load carrier  towards Rajouri on fake permission and rescued the cattle.
SP Rural, Jammu Mohan Lal Kaith told the Excelsior that  a police naka party led by SHO Akhnoor, Bharat Sharma under the supervision of Sub Divisional Police Officer Akhnoor,  Naresh Singh intercepted a Mahindra 207 vehicle No. JK-11A/2873 this morning and found four bovine cattle being transported towards Rajouri. The police party got suspicious as the driver  produced the permission issued from the office of District Magistrate, Rajouri on September 30, 2014.
The permission carried the signatures of  the Additional District Magistrate while DM’s seal was also there on the scanned paper. The police was knowing that record of the office at Rajouri had already been seized and an inquiry was being initiated by the DM after a fake permission was seized by Surankote police from the bovine smugglers on Sept 26 on Mughal Road.
The SP further disclosed that SDPO Akhnoor, then contacted Additional DC Rajouri who denied having issued such permission to any one on Sept 30. The police arrested all the three persons and seized the vehicle along with cattle. A case FIR No. 201/2014 was registered in this connection and the arrested persons were placed under sustained questioning.
The arrested persons were identified as Tufail Hussain, son of Mohd Haneef, Mohd Maroof, son of Mohd Ismail of Badoon in Rajouri and Jagtar Singh, son of Shanker Lal of  Nandpur in Samba.
Additional DC Rajouri, Mr Salim when contacted said that he had not issued any permission on Sept 30. He said that he was in Jammu in connection with some official work yesterday. Moreover, record of the Judicial section has been seized and an inquiry is already being initiated into the case. When asked how, official seals of DM are being misused and fake permission with forged signs are coming out one after the other, the ADC said that they too, were worried over it and a thorough inquiry is being conducted in this regard.
