JRG’s Suri bags 5th spot in Half Marathon

JAMMU, Sept 3: More than 2000 runners participated from 45 cities across India and outside India in the 2nd Kargil International Marathon which began from TFC Kargil.
Commander 121 Infantry Brigade and Marketing Head Syska LED flagged off the Marathon.
The runners were running in Full Marathon 160, 140, 60, 42, 21,10 and 5 kilometers races and the Marathon started at 6 am at TFC Kargil.
The Marathon was dedicated to Late Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Representing Jammu rather Jammu Runners Group (JRG), Sham Suri finiished the Half Marathon in 2:05 hours to clinch the 5th spot in his respective age category.
Mr Suri described the experience of running in the hills of Kargil as exhilarating and urged the youth to be active and stay away from any sort of addiction.
Earlier, the organizers presented Kargil Gaurav Award to five outstanding people who have contributed to various fields including Lt General Retd Rajendra Nimbhorkar, Sonam Wangchuk, Samsher Hakla Poonchi and Vishal Chordia.
