NEW DELHI, Oct 23:
The relaxation in upper age limit for residents of Jammu and Kashmir was today extended, till 2017, by the Centre for recruitments to various Central Civil Services and other posts.
The Personnel Ministry has notified the Residents of the State of Jammu and Kashmir (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit for Recruitment to Central Civil Services and posts) Amendment Rules, 2015 extending the relaxation in upper age to 2017 from 2015.
People from Jammu and Kashmir have got extension in upper age limit to appear in various Central Government related examinations, including the civil services exam to select IAS and IPS.
“Today’s notification will have an impact on all recruitments done by various Central Government Ministries for posts under their control,” a Personnel Ministry official said.
As per this year’s Civil Services examination notification, a candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on August 1, 2015.
The upper age limit is further relaxable upto a maximum of five years if a candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from January 1, 1980 to December 31, 1989, it said. (PTI)
