2 truck conductors drown in Birmah Nullah

UDHAMPUR, Sept 30: In a tragic incident, two truck conductors drowned while taking bath in Birmah Nullah at By pass, National Highway Udhampur, here this evening.
Identity of the drowned persons was established as Zahid (20), son of Mohammad Maqbool and Adil (25), son of Shakat Ahmed, both residents of Pampore in Pulwama Kashmir.
They along with other friends were taking bath in the Birma Nullah at By Pass National Highway Udhampur when slipped into deep water and drowned around 5.15 pm. On being informed, a Police team rushed to the spot and fished out the bodies after two-hour long search operation.
Later, the dead bodies were shifted to the District Hospital Udhampur for the postmortem and other legal formalities while a case has been registered in this connection for further investigation.
Meanwhile, in separate incidents, a young man working in a hotel at Patnitop died under mysterious circumstance while a driver was found dead in his truck, here today.
A police spokesman said that 30 -year-old Shankar Singh, on of Jagnath Singh of Kultyar Panchari, working in a hotel at Patnitop was rushed to hospital when the hotel staff noticed him in serious condition and vomiting. However, doctors declared him as brought dead at DH Udhampur.
A driver was found dead in his truck JK02T-1779, which was parked on the roadside. The deceased was identified as Mahinder Singh (65), son of Dullha Singh of Chatha Jammu.
