UDHAMPUR, June 28: Police today arrested two persons involved in rape cases in Chenani and Pancheri area of the district.
Police spokesman said that, a person identified as Mir Chand, son of Munshi Ram of Kud, was arrested after a young woman from Chenani area of the district, lodged a complaint with Police Station Chenani, that the said person allegedly raped her. In this regard, a case stands registered at Police Station Chenani under FIR No 64/12.
Meanwhile, in another same incident, a person namely Angrez Singh, son of Kachu Ram of Badhota, Akhu, district Udhampur, has been arrested in case of attempt to rape on a minor girl, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Pancheri.
Both the accused were remanded to police custody for seven days.
