Srinagar, Oct 11: Police today said it arrested two persons who were accused of raping a girl last Tuesday in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A police spokesman said that on 4th of October, a complaint was received by Police Station Bandipora from father of the victim that his daughter has been raped by two persons identified as Arif Ahmad Baba and Aadil Ahmad Reshi, both residents of Lankreshipora in the Bandipora district, when she was in a willow nursery to collect fire wood at Lankershipora.
Accordingly, a case under FIR number 140/2016 was registered and investigation was set into motion, he said, adding that during the course of investigation, the girl was medically examined and the results confirmed the rape.
He said the police acted swiftly and arrested both the accused involved in the crime. Further investigation in this crime is going on, the police spokesman.
