2 PHE officials, 42 other employees suspended

SRINAGAR, Oct 16: The Government today suspended Assistant Executive Engineer and Establishment Clerk of PHE Division, Budgam for online registration of Casual, Seasonal Labours/Workers (CSLWs) engaged on need-based for a limited period before 2009 against the norms.
According to an order issued by Secretary PHE and I&FC: “in pursuance of the provisions of Rule 31 of J&K Civil Services, Classification and Control Rules, 1956 pending enquiry of the officer/ official, are hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect.”
During the period of their suspension, they (suspended officials) will remain attached with the Chief Engineer, I&FC Department, the order added.
Meanwhile, to ensure punctuality of employees in the Government offices, the district administration Shopian today ordered suspension of 4 officials of CPO Shopian, 2 officials of CEO, 2 officials of DPO, 4 officials of CPO, 8 officials of D.C Office and 19 officials of Food and Civil Supplies, District Statistical & Evaluation Office and Deputy Chief Medical Office Shopian.
On the directions of District Development Commissioner Shopian Dr Owais Ahmed, a team of officers headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian made surprise inspection of various Government offices. During his visit, he found 42 officials unauthorized absent from the duty. Taking a serious note of the absence the DDC Shopian ordered their suspension with immediate effect.
He reiterated that drive against absenteeism in the offices will continue with more vigor in future as well.
