UDHAMPUR, Dec 22: With the arrest of two minor thieves and recovery of stolen items, Udhampur Police today worked out a burglary case under the jurisdiction of Police Station Majalta.
The recovered items include seven stolen mobile phones, one digital camera, 21 batteries and other accessories of mobile phones.
The theft had taken place in one Ganesh Dass’s shop of electronic goods in village Bhardai of tehsil Majalta on December 15 and an FIR in this connection was registered in Police Station Majalta.
During the course of investigation by SHO Majalta, police zeroed in two suspects, who happened to be minors. The duo was subjected to thorough questioning during which they broke out and confessed to the commission of burglary. On their disclosure, Police recovered the stolen mobile phones and other items besides equipments used to break open the shop.
Police is also working on the possible involvement of these accused persons in some other theft cases. Further investigation of the case was going on.
Meanwhile, in another success, Udhampur Police arrested two absconders, who were wanted in different cases under the jurisdiction of Police Station Panchari and Chenani.
One of them, identified as Rattan Chand of Ladda in Pancheri, was wanted in case FIR number 09/2006 under Section 457/511/RPC at Police Station Pancheri while the other accused, namely Balbir Singh of Ward number 4, Simbal Camp Jammu, was wanted in a case FIR number 84/2009 under Section 279/304A at Police Station Chenani.
Rattan Chand and Balbir Singh were evading arrest since 2006 and 2009, respectively.
Both the arrested accused were produced in the court of law for further proceedings.
