UDHAMPUR, June 27: Two minor boys were crushed to death by a speeding Tipper on the National Highway at Champari near Chenani, here this morning.
The deceased were identified as Raj Kumar (8), son of Subash Chander of Champari and Pankaj Kumar (13) son of Kansi of Lower Sarar. They were run over by the speeding Tipper of General Reserve Engineering Force (GREF), which was on way to Jammu.
The accident took place this morning around 7.40 and both the victims reportedly died on the spot. Driver of the Tipper, identified as Pritam Singh, son of Shoba Ram of Kotray Batote, was arrested by a Police team, led by SHO Chenani, Inspector Paramjeet Singh.
Police also seized the Tipper and shifted the dead bodies to Sub District Hospital Chenani. After completion of medical and legal formalities, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their family members for the last rites.
A case under FIR number 70/2019, under Section 279 304A CrRP has been registered in this connection at Chenani Police Station.
