REASI, July 30: Two labourers engaged for road work, died after they came under massive landslide at Lar village in Mahore area, here today.
While one labourer died on the spot, the other succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital. The deceased were identified as Abdul Rashid Sheikh (37), son of Abdul Rehman of Shadole and Mushtaq Ahmad alias Jhangeer (19), son of Mohd Abdullah of Shadole.
According to Police, the incident took place when the road work was under progress and the heavy landslide took place. Both the labourers came under boulders and debris of the landslide resulting into on the spot death of Abdul Rashid. Mushtaq Ahmad was rushed to hospital but he also succumbed to his injuries after some time.
Meanwhile, a young woman died after she fell from a hillock in forest area of Gusal, under the jurisdiction of Arnas Police Station.
The deceased was identified as Manisha Devi (25), wife of Pawan Kumar of Gusal Kanthan. She had gone to jungle of Gusal for collecting fire wood where she fell from a hillock and died on the spot.
In this connection, Police has initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC at Police Station Arnas.
