KATHUA, July 24: Two persons including the driver of a tractor and a labourer died on spot after the tractor was hit by a truck at Jammu-Pathankote National Highway near District Hospital Kathua this afternoon.
According to police a tractor bearing number JK08C-6835 was hit by a speedy truck bearing number JK013 A-5349 which was on its way from Jammu to Pathankote near DH Kathua resulting into the instant death of the tractor driver and the laborer who was working with the tractor.
The duo have been identified as Babu Lal, S/O Sham Lal of Chak Sajjan Kathua and Parmanand of Rajasthan who was working as labour with the tractor.
The Kathua police has registered a case and seized the truck. However its driver managed to escape. The police has launched a search for him.
The dead bodies of the two have been kept in Kathua hospital mortuary and they will handed over to their family members after postmortem tomorrow.
