RAJOURI, Dec 10: Two persons including a minor boy were killed in two separate road accidents in Thannamandi and Kalakote areas of district Rajouri today.
A police spokesman said that 10-year-old Irfan, son of Mohd Latief, resident of Sawjian area of Mandi, was crushed under a bus No. JK02AF/7257 at Potha in Kalakote area today. The old bus went out of control after mechanical failure and the boy was crushed to death on the spot. A woman identified as Razia Begum, wife of Mohd Shabir, hailing from Balli village in Kalakote was injured in the mishap. She was removed to Rajouri hospital. Police has taken cognizance of the matter
A report from Thannamandi said that a labourer, Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Mohd Latief, hailing from Mahore area of Reasi, was critically injured after he was hit by a mini-bus on Rajouri-Thannamandi road this afternoon. The mishap took place when the labourer was returning from his work. He was rushed to Thannamandi hospital where doctors declared him as dead. Police seized the vehicle No. JK02S/1046 but its driver managed to escape. A case has been registered against him.
