RAJOURI, Aug 25: Thanna-mandi police arrested two thieves and recovered stolen gold ornaments and some other goods from their possession today.
The accused are identified as Abdul Hamid, son of Muneer Hussain and Mohd Yunis, son of Nazir Mohd, residents of Pangai village in Thannamandi. They had committed burglary in the house of one Mohd Arif of the same village, when the family had gone to a marriage function four days back. They broke opened the door and decamped with gold and other goods worth over Rs 1.30 lakhs.
Arif lodged a report with Thannamandi police the next day of the theft. The police on the basis of some clues lifted the accused and they broke during interrogation. The police has registered a case against them.
