2 electrocuted while working in fields, hospitalized

DODA, June 3: Two youth were electrocuted while working in fields in Chakra Dhandhal area of Tehsil Kastigarh here.
As per police sources, two persons working in the fields were electrocuted after a live High Tension (HT) wire fell on them in Chakra Dhadhal area of Tehsil Kastigarh today.
The injured persons were identified as Aqib Khanji (19), son of Mohammad Ashraf Khanji and Jahangir Wani (24), son of Abdul Hamid Wani, both residents Chakra, Tehsil Kastigarh District Doda.
Both the injured were rushed to GMC Doda from where they were later referred to GMCH Jammu for advanced treatment.
Doda Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
Meanwhile, people of the area alleged that Power Development Department (PDD) failed to shift the HT line to safer place despite repeated pleas.
The residents demanded shifting of HT line to safer place so as to save precious lives.
They also demanded compensation for the injured persons as both belongs to a poor family.
