JAMMU, Nov 8: Two-day international conference on Gandhian Philosophy, which was hosted by Jammu University in collaboration with Central University Jammu and Sarvodaya International Trust concluded today.
The valedictory session featured Gandhi prayers Instrumental.
The Conference on the topic “Revisiting the virtues of Gandhian Philosophy, the relevance and applicability in the 21st century,” formed the part of the eventful Golden Jubilee celebration of Jammu University and a homage paying gesture to the Father of Nation on his 150th birth anniversary.
The event was largely attended by Academicians, scholars, social activists from different parts of the country.
Vice-Chancellor SMVDU Prof Ravindra Kumar Sinha, was the chief guest at the valedictory function.
At the outset, Prof Renu Nanda, organizing secretary of the conference presented welcome address and proceedings of the conference. She informed that various papers were presented by the students, scholars, faculty of various universities and colleges on the theme of “Revisiting the virtues of Gandhian Philosophy, the relevance and applicability in the 21st century,” and other topics.
Dr Savita Singh, Gandhian thinker writer, in her valedictory address, stressed on the need to imbibe the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi in the life. She also shared some of the life events on Gandhi Ji and highlighted his struggles. She urged upon the audience to follow the principles of Mahatma Gandhi and spread it to next generations.
Prof Manoj K Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu and Prof Ashok Aima, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, also gave presidential remarks during the event. The Vote of thanks was presented by Dr Bacha Babu, from Central University of Jammu.
Later, the students, scholars from JNU and other universities of country shared their experience about the conference.
