2-day awareness workshop held in Budgam

SRINAGAR, July 2: A two-day workshop was held in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district wherein the participants were made aware about various schemes of Ministry of Minority Affairs.
The workshop was held on 1st and 2nd July in Government Degree College Beerwah in Budgam. The workshop was organized by HP Rural Entrepreneurship Development and Consultancy Organisation (HP REDCOS).
The spokesperson of the organization said nearly 200 people especially students from the minority community of the district Budgam took part in the workshop. During this workshop, he said, the members of the organization gave information about the various schemes being run by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt of India to the people of the area.
The members talked about various schemes including the Pre Matric, Post Matric, Prime Minister 15 points program and Merit cum Means Scholarships being provided to the beneficiaries of the minority community by the Government of India through Social Welfare Department.
Irshad Maqbool Tehsil Social Welfare Officer, Principal Zahoor Ahmed Madni, Balwant Singh Thakur, Rakesh Rana, and Prof. Nazir Ahmad spoke on the occasion.
