2 B’deshis held from Yatri Niwas

JAMMU, July 20: Two Bangladeshi nationals were detained by the Security Wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police from Bhagwati Nagar based Amarnath Yatri Niwas here this afternoon when they were moving in suspicious way.
“On finding two persons suspicious, the security men of J&K Police intercepted them near a frisking shed along the roadside,” police sources here said.
They said that on scrutiny of the documents of the suspects, they were found Bangladeshi nationals.
A security wing team comprising of Inspector, Ranjeet Singh, DySP Zuber Mirza and Zonal Officer, SSP Ranjit Singh, who were on duty, immediately swung into action and apprehended them on the spot.
They were questioned by the security team and were later handed over to the nearby Police Station for further action.
Police sources said that they were on valid passport and were on way to perform yatra but the matter is being investigated.
Arrested persons were identified as Mohd Rafiq ul Islam Hussain, 44, son of Mohd Abu Ali Farazi, resident of College Road, Bokuzar Mor Ishwardal Pabna, Dhaka, Bangladesh and Mohd Ashraf Ali, 45, son of Jonudin Sheikh, resident of Ghar Babua, Kandapra Kamarerchar Sherpur, Sadar, Dhaka Bangladesh.
“Our boys are on alert round the clock and maintaining tight vigil at Yatri Niwas,” Ashok Sharma, SSP Security said, while confirming the report about the detention of Bangla nationals.
