2 arrested for manhandling medical staff at hospital

UDHAMPUR, May 31: Acting on a written complaint by Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Udhampur alleging manhandling of medical staff by some attendants of a patient, Police today arrested two accused persons.
As per the complaint, last night around 11.30 pm, six persons came to the hospital with a patient namely Amit Singh having deep injury over forehead. Even as the injured patient was medically treated by the medical staff on duty, the attendants accompanying the injured misbehaved with medical staff, Police personnel and CRPF personnel on the duty. They also manhandled medical staff and damaged the hospital property near Corona Ward before fleeing away.
Taking cognizance of the complaint, Police registered a case FIR Number 222/2020, under Section 353/147/148/427 IPC at PS Udhampur and arrested two accused persons, namely Amit Chander Singh and Mohit Chander Singh, both son of Amar Singh of Subash Nagar while four others were still absconding.
Meanwhile, Doctors Association has demanded security to the medical staff for avoiding such incidents during the working hours.
